Apple's iPad 2 -

Apple's iPad has many built in accomodations;

VoiceOver provides spoken cues to understand object location and context by simply touching an object on the display.  VoiceOver also supports adjustable speaking rates and 21 different languages.

Zoom in on any area on the display with a simple gesture to enlarge text or objects to view them more easily.

Speak Auto-text suggests words before you finish typing them and automatically suggests correct spelling by displaying and voicing these suggestions.

FaceTime provides video calling over wifi for those needing visual communication.  Coaches can also provide remote support for those who may not have a constant need.

Find My iPhone provides password protected tracking of an iPad 2 with 3G and the induvidual using it.

Visual Alerts provide visual notification of incoming communications.

Maps provides turn by turn navigation for those who may not remember how to get to their destination.

Calendar can provide time alarms to signal someone to move to a new task, take a break or lunch, leave for home, ect.  Coaches can add alarm events to another's calendar remotely.

Applications (Apps) There are over 400,000 apps available for iPhone and iPad.  The best way to find an for a specific need is to Google the need (ie augmentative communication iPad apps).  When the list somes up read the reviews and make your decision before going to iTunes to purchase them.
